Apple Launches a New Privacy Policy

After the huge Facebook scandal that embroiled improper access of personal credentials of millions of users by political consultancy, Apple is introducing a new privacy policy that will allow its users to control the way their data is being used. Several Tech companies are striving to bring their services back to track with the help of EU protection line

The EU Protection Line comes under the European Union General Data Protection Regulation that came into action on 25th May. It has one of the biggest set of privacy rules and introduces strict fines of up to 4% to all the companies that breaches the privacy policy. The EU Federation has been one of the biggest turnovers for different types of companies across the world.
“ Apple has distanced itself from Facebook and Google, who can collect personal data of the users through targeted advertising. This new privacy policy is designed to provide right to data portability to its customers. The new right is introduced by GDPR is the by allowing them to get a copy of their data which can be transferred to another service.”
With this policy, the users will be notified whenever any personal data will be shared with a tech company. This attempt is to draw a line between apple and Facebook. The software was released on Thursday. People were made aware about how personal information is shared with Apple, such as the App Store and iTunes.
Further information has revealed that the company will also let the users delete or completely deactivate their account. Hence, there will no personal data processed by Apple. An upcoming update of the apple website will allow the users download all the data that is held by the company, such as photos, personal details and contacts
